Lance and Clair - Junior Dragon Trainers.

Hello there! Man, it's been forever since I've uploaded anything, huh? Sorry, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

Anyway, this is meant to be a prequel to this piece, and both this and the previous piece were based on this piece of fan art of Lance and Clair as kids. I'm sorry, I cannot find the original source.

I've always imagined Clair and Lance having some sort of "friendly rivalry" between each other, Lance being the one obstacle Clair has always wanted to surmount, but never could. Only recently did I find out that they were cousins. So it's really more of something like a "sibling rivalry," and that seems to work pretty well, actually!

I originally dimmed the lights in this piece because I wanted it to look like they were sparring inside the Dragon Shrine, which IS in a cave, after all. But I decided to undo the lights. You can still find the originally-dimmed version here.

I can imagine Lance being the only person Clair ever cries in front of, even to this day. The idea that her Kingdra has been with her ever since it was a Horsea is nice, as well.
