A rant. I am not sorry for this.

Deviation Actions

I doubt any of you will read this, but if you have even a shred of humanity, you will benefit from reading this.

Why do schools only act when someone stands up to a bully, and not when bullying occurs? It’s almost as if they WANT bullying to happen. To further support this theory, one news article said that in order to stop bullying students have to act “less gay”. And another one said that a state ALLOWED bullying of gays in school for religious expression.

No, seriously. Look it up.

How can people think that bullying is just harmless hazing, when kids have KILLED themselves over it? Maybe if they actually LOOKED in the hallways, they would see that the so-called “hazing” consists of actions that pretty much invalidate the notion of humanity in the bullies. I mean, some of them even BRAG about the suicides. THEY TAKE PRIDE IN KNOWING THEY DROVE SOMEONE TO SUICIDE.

The only reason I can think of schools condoning bullying is if the teachers were bullies themselves in school, and therefore took it further by getting school jobs, JUST FOR THE SAKE OF HURTING MORE CHILDREN. But they're older now. They should have the wisdom to know what's going on, and figuring out ways to combat it. But they DON'T. Because their desire for order is overshadowed by their desire to hurt kids. Even in middle age. Wow.

This is what happens, people. This is what happens when you allow bullying to continue in school. People suspect YOU, the faculty, of being bullies yourselves. You want safety in your school? Go after the ones who are threatening it. The REAL threats, which aren't gays, transgenders, or POCs. The BULLIES. Prejudices shouldn't cloud your judgement. They shouldn't even be in your head at all.

You pride yourselves on your sports teams, but that’s not what school is about. If you really did care about education, you’d pride yourselves on THAT, and think of sports and homecoming and such as perks instead of the focus. But you don’t.

The root cause of all the world's problems is anger and hatred. If we really did care about solving this bully problem, we would've come to that conclusion long ago. But the educational system is more focused on being wealthy than being, you know. educational. I don't want it to have to come to the point where we have to stoop to a bully's level,  but as time goes by, other solutions begin to look less and less feasible. I still have hope for the system though. I just hope that it doesn't turn into despair.

I could go on and on about this, but I’ll just leave you with this:

Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one of them.

I could not agree more with this. I was bullied in high school, even though numerous attempts were made to stop it.

I felt completely worthless, even contemplating suicide myself a couple of times.

But I got past all that. I told myself I was, I am, and I always will be, better than the bullies.

And now I have a well-paying job doing what I love, while many of the others who tried to bring me down are stuck in dead end jobs, or are young mums.

And yes, I was a nerd. And I am still a nerd. And I will always be a nerd.

And I'm proud to call myself a nerd =D
